Renata Correa is a Brazilian native who has been working in the veterinary industry for over 15 years. She arrived in Canada in 2013 with a Permanent Residency Status and with her previous experience and formal education, she  started working immediately as an Animal Health Technician. With an University Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medicine, she worked as a veterinarian for many years in Brazil, before starting her certification program in Animal Ultrasonography in companion animals, comprised of over 190 hours of theory training and hands-on internship with two of the most prestigious entities in her home city, Sao Paulo. Before leaving for Canada, Renata was working as a veterinarian and sonographer in a Veterinary Hospital and Emergency Care and was offered the position of full time sonographer, at the diagnostic centre where she obtain one of her certificates in Ultrasonography. Having to decline that offer to move to British Columbia, her passion for imaging never faded and whenever she got a chance to perform an ultrasound she would jump in and reignite that passion.

Keeping herself update is always a priority and that is the reason why she pursued a certification in Abdominal Ultrasonography in Companion Animals (in North America), to update her knowledge and to standardize the sonographic approach learned years ago. 

Sonographers are medical detectives and Renata takes pride in being a versatile and responsible one, by using her ultrasound training, technical skills, and understanding of the anatomy and its systems to decide if structures are normal or abnormal and adapt the investigation as she find clues throughout an examination. 

Renata works as the examiner, the imaging technician, by obtaining the images and clips of the sonographic exam, while the report will be conducted by a reputable Board Certified Radiologist in North America.
